We got invited to shoot and assist our friend Mark during a prenup task. So we took care of the candids while he directed the couple. Well, we were instructed not to release any photos yet so they could surprise their friends, but we’re allowed to post some “anonymous” shots. Yehey!
If I’m not doing major gigs like prenups and weddings, I shoot behind my best photography buddies Mark and Jery. They’re really awesome dudes too. When we got our own gigs, we usually work together. We set out to Cavite yesterday to shoot behind Mark’s prenup gig and as soon as we called it a wrap, we braved ourselves to stand in front of a camera. Wooot!
That’s me on the center. I’m not on crack!
OK That’s enough vanity. We’re not good at this. Give me back my camera!
Behind-the-Scenes! All the while I thought the Korus trainees where taking snaps of themselves while waiting for the others’ solos to be finished. I didn’t know they too were taking shots of me and my awkward shooting positions. Hehehe! Thanks heaps!
So far this has been the closest I have been to working with my favorite choir of all time. Niiiice! Gaile asked me to help them out with photos they could use for their audition concert materials and so I took on the task. No need to coach these UPCC trainees for poses. They already got that Korus “swagger”!
Thanks Pola, Sybil, Maki, Liane, Eenna and Gaile. Asteeeg kayo! I should make every effort to attend your concert. Wag makalimot ‘pag members na kayo
2009 has been has been a pretty great year getting my feet wet into photography. Still learning the ropes and bounds and coping very well. And now that 2009 is in the books, my portfolio is decently building up pretty well. Still, I believe that I am barely hitting my potential. I know I can deliver better results in the future.
That said, I am grateful to friends who provided me opportunities to work for them, and I am looking forward to more gigs in 2010.
The new year looks bright. Things are getting more fun! I’m very excited.
God bless ya’ll and may you be happy the whole year round.
My times with Kuya Teofy date back to our university days in UP. We both were part of the same religious organization, and he’s finally tying the knot with Ate Edna in a few days.
But before the pictures, here’s some sidestory why this dude is special- There was this one night just at the outskirts of the UP campus, there were four of us crossing the streets when a group of young boys attempted to rob me off my cellphone. I was being threatened at knife-point,when Kuya Teofy jumped in and tried to grab one of those criminals. To cut the story short, the robbers were successful taking my phone away, Kuya Teofy and I both got lacerations but we were both alive. It’s nice to think that this dude would take a knife for me. For that I’m very thankful. I know I would do the same for him, but I hope it won’t come to that. Hehe!
Okay.. okay.. prenup photo-ops @ AUP (My 2nd time to shoot prenups there). It was getting dark when we started but we managed to get some cool shots nonetheless. Just a few days and I’ll witness Ate Edna marry this superhero!
Given that Wayne and Joy’s main photographer’s team is a HUGE group, I was allowed to proceed to church directly. So no preps and creative couple’s shots from me. Leaving the bulk of the task to their main photographers, I took simple snaps here and there for Wayne and Joy to quickly show to their friends and relatives right after their big day.

There you go. During and after the party, I managed to mingle with friends. It was a sure memorable and ROCKIN* day! Many thanks again to Wayne and Joy for the opportunity to be part of their wedding. From Cel and I, congratulations!
Wayne and Joy both have been our church friends- not to mention but they’re also my wife Cel’s AUP College of Nursing batchmates! They’re now US-based nurses and have flown back to the PI to finally tie the knot. FYI, I’m not their main photographer but Joy phoned me just a couple of days ago for a separate prenup shoot with me apart from their main photog’s packaged prenups; told me they’d be wearing formals (read: gown… barong…) for our shoot, gave me the idea that they both wanted their pictorials at some place like an abandoned house and then sunset shots so I took them to the construction site just right behind the church where they’ll be wed and then Baywalk at Roxas Boulevard.
@ Wayne and Joy, sana nagustuhan niyo ang pix. I had a lot of fun working with you as well!
And yes, I finally got to take a snap with the ROCKIN* couple. Tenkyu! Tenkyu!
Rethel is my 2nd degree cousin and she’s flown like miles and miles all the way from Canada to Batangas to meet Joel, her HTB (that’s husband-to-be, folks) for their wedding arrangements AND their prenup shoot as well. The sun was scorching hot during our shoot and this couple braved the unbearable heat with us and came up with fantastic photos at the end of the day.
