Given that Wayne and Joy’s main photographer’s team is a HUGE group, I was allowed to proceed to church directly. So no preps and creative couple’s shots from me. Leaving the bulk of the task to their main photographers, I took simple snaps here and there for Wayne and Joy to quickly show to their friends and relatives right after their big day.

There you go. During and after the party, I managed to mingle with friends. It was a sure memorable and ROCKIN* day! Many thanks again to Wayne and Joy for the opportunity to be part of their wedding. From Cel and I, congratulations!
Wayne and Joy both have been our church friends- not to mention but they’re also my wife Cel’s AUP College of Nursing batchmates! They’re now US-based nurses and have flown back to the PI to finally tie the knot. FYI, I’m not their main photographer but Joy phoned me just a couple of days ago for a separate prenup shoot with me apart from their main photog’s packaged prenups; told me they’d be wearing formals (read: gown… barong…) for our shoot, gave me the idea that they both wanted their pictorials at some place like an abandoned house and then sunset shots so I took them to the construction site just right behind the church where they’ll be wed and then Baywalk at Roxas Boulevard.
@ Wayne and Joy, sana nagustuhan niyo ang pix. I had a lot of fun working with you as well!
And yes, I finally got to take a snap with the ROCKIN* couple. Tenkyu! Tenkyu!
Rethel is my 2nd degree cousin and she’s flown like miles and miles all the way from Canada to Batangas to meet Joel, her HTB (that’s husband-to-be, folks) for their wedding arrangements AND their prenup shoot as well. The sun was scorching hot during our shoot and this couple braved the unbearable heat with us and came up with fantastic photos at the end of the day.

When Allan of the Lifeline Chorale approached me and my photographer friends Mark and Jery for choir photo-ops, he already knew what he wanted us to achieve. So everything was basically laid out for us. He showed us some sample contemporary choir photos he drew from the net for inspiration, found the venue he liked and got the necessary permits, the choir came in with a consistent white-with-cream attire. All we had to do was concentrate on the photography part.
After the group shots, I took portraits of each individual member of the chorale then called it a wrap. Got invited to brunch with the gang, DVD-marathon right after then some pizza. Niiiiice! BIG thanks Lifeline folks! See you at your upcoming concert.
Plug: The Lifeline Chorale will be having their 27th Anniversary Concert at Pasay Adventist Church on December 11, 2009, 7:00 PM.
Spent the weekend in Tagaytay City with my old college buddies plus a whole bunch of students- like more than a hundred of them! This was an AMiCUS Convention by the way. The first of its kind after FIVE years! I got to take a huge amount of photos to cover the event but I’m posting only two. Why oh why?
*grin*
Ayt! That’s two photos. Find the rest at FB while I hide under my mouse hole. Way to go AMiCUS! God bless y’all!
Way back in high school, I was around 14 then, there was this weekly boxing show on TV called “Blow by Blow” that showcased young and upcoming local boxers. There was this skinny kid I always look forward to watching. With his devil-may-care approach with zero technique, almost all his opponents simply kissed the canvas with his power bombs. Iwas like “What th- this kid is bad ass!” He was a bundle of energy, fun to watch… I never knew how far this kid would go.
I flew south of Manila to Bacolod to attend Jinoe and Que’s wedding. Under the smoldering heat of the sun we managed to take a bunch of great shots for their prenups. But then I realized that TAKBO.PH’s first couple must be no stranger to the heat on the road. I just wonder if making PDA in front of my lens is much more taskful than running a 21K .

Cel has been nagging me time and again for me to take photos of her. It’s been some time since we last set a schedule for a pictorial. Okay… okay… she wants a new profile photo for her Facebook account real bad.
At least that’s how they want their group called. These four dudes just stood there and asked if they can be shot like they were a rock band or something (boy band maybe? I don’t know). Too bad I didn’t have even a single speedlight with me. What a bummer. I had to make do with those lights similar to those you see in an outdoor basketball court, plus Photoshop, Photoshop and Photoshop!
Sorry, it’s would be a breach of contract for the ROCKIN*PHOTOGRAPHER to appear on other band’s photographs. Hahaha!
